A lot of the problems you may have with a computer may come from the Windows Registry. Few people have the courage to do something about it. When working with Registry keys, a wrong move can turn your system inside out. Due to invalid or missing keys, Registry related problems can pile up in time and your computer's performance will slow down to a crawl. Little Registry Cleaner is freeware and open source. The small size of the setup file (3.46 Mb) makes the downloading and installation processes fast. You can run it without any problems on Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7, without needing to worry about system requirements. If your processor can run your system at a moderate speed, and you have at least 128 MB or RAM, there won't be any issues.

The utility lets you target certain categories of Registry keys, including application info, program locations, software settings, shared DLLs, Windows fonts and more. They can be found in a tree structure and you can select them with the aid of check boxes. After clicking the Scan button on the toolbar, the process will begin immediately. When it is done, the found problems will be displayed in a different tree structure, on the main region of the interface. To fix these problems, you only need to click the Fix button on the toolbar. In a few seconds, a pop-up window notifies you that the problems were removed. A second scan will start automatically, to make sure that the program did not miss anything. Before fixing any problems, the application will create a backup of your Registry, which you can restore at any time by clicking the Restore button on the toolbar.

Little Registry Cleaner features two additional tools which may give you some extra control over the operating system. One of them is a programs uninstall manager, similar to the standard one that comes with Windows. The second tool is a startup manager which lets you decide what programs are allowed to launch automatically on system startup. The application can be set to scan and fix your Registry keys automatically on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. This can be done from the general settings window and it only requires clicking on one of four radio buttons.
